Rhinoplasty (Rhinoplasty)
The term rhinoplasty, or nose correction, refers to the surgical correction of the external human nose.
This cosmetic nose surgery is suitable for patients who want to increase their social well-being by changing the shape of their nose. It is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery and can be used for both congenital and deformities caused by injury.
Typical corrections to the nose are performed for hump nose, crooked nose or saddle nose, for example. Bone or cartilage, e.g. of a nasal hump, is removed(nasal reductionplasty) or missing tissue is renewed or replaced (nasal reconstructionplasty or nasal replacementplasty). However, changes to the tip of the nose, nostrils and/or nostrils can be made just as easily.
Corrections of the inner human nose(septoplasty) can also be performed simultaneously with rhinoplasty(septo-rhinoplasty).
If you are interested in a rhinoplasty (nose correction), it is important to communicate your ideas and wishes to the surgeon in charge in advance (through us). This requires photographs of your face from various perspectives and further information about yourself.
On site, the surgeon will examine the structure of your nose and face in more detail and discuss with you the possibilities of a change, the procedure (surgical technique), the type of anesthesia and other professional steps.
Please note that nose surgery causes bruising and swelling especially around the eyes. These last for several days/weeks, may cause pain/discomfort and do not initially indicate the purpose of the cosmetic surgery.
Your surgeon will explain how to handle your newly operated nose and what to pay special attention to within the recovery period.
However, once you get over this unpleasant phase of nose surgery, you will be able to see and enjoy the final result of your nose job after about 1 year.
